The tension in the Simmons family surfaced early on Sunday (June 18), when Ming, the music mogul's oldest daughter, posted a Father's Day message to her mother Kimora on her Instagram Story. As a response, Russell Simmons shared a meme with the message: "Stop telling fathers they should have fought harder to see their children and start asking mothers why he had to fight at all."
When Kimora read these remarks, she used Instagram Live to fire out at her ex-husband, accusing him of acting as if they were still close even though she had blocked him on social media years earlier. The couple's youngest child, Aoki, then joined the discussion by sharing insulting notes from her father and a muted video of him yelling at her on FaceTime.
Aoki asserted that her father has a mental health condition and that the family has given up on trying to mend their connection.
We would be negligent if we had to note that after being accused of sexual assault by numerous women, Simmons flew to Bali, where he spent the majority of his time. Many believe this was a ploy to escape facing the accusations because Bali does not have an extradition arrangement with the US. Another major issue is that Simmons supposedly began seeing Kimora when she was still a teenager.
