R.Kelly Sex Abuse Charges Dropped

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx announced in a press conference on Monday that the charges the state of Illinois has pressed against convicted sex offender Robert Sylvester Kelly will be dropped. The R&B singer, now age 56, was previously given 30 years in prison following his convictions in federal court in New York and is set to be given a sentence of 10 to 90 years in Chicago's federal court. His convictions included sex trafficking, racketeering, production of child pornography, and more. Since these convictions call for extensive jail time, the office has decided to not use any more resources or court time on the indictments held against him.
